The terraces were built by hand 650 years ago by Zhuang and Yao people, generation after generation; it is a masterpiece reflecting their ancient wisdom. You will meet some of the local minority people working in the rice fields,see their traditional wooden houses, and observe the Zhuang ethnic minority group's lifestyle, culture, and customs.

We will then continue on to Jingzhu Zhuang Village and finally return to the Guilin airport.

Day 1: One-day trip from Guilin to the Longji rice terraces, then back to Guilin. Stay in Guilin.

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Guilin and drive you to the famous Longji rice terraces. The drive takes about 3.5 hours. Along the way, we can stop to explore the Long Hair Yao (Huangluo Yao) minority village if you are interested. You will have a delicious lunch with excellent local food in Ping’an village, after which we will hike to the top of a hill where you can see the great rice terraces. Ping'an Village gives you a unique opportunity to observe the Zhuang ethnic group's lifestyle, culture, and customs.

We will then drive you back to Guilin.

Day 2: Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo; Impression light show; stay in Yangshuo

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. We will then drive you to Zhujiang Dock to board one of the best cruises on the Li River. The cruise takes around 4 hours to reach Yangshuo, arriving at the Yangshuo Dock around 1:00. You can relax comfortably on the boat or ascend to the upper deck to enjoy the beautiful views. Lunch on the boat is included.

Upon arrival in Yangshuo, you may stroll on bustling West Street or head directly to your hotel.

The day will conclude with the spectacular Impression light show, which begins at 8:00 and finishes at 9:10.

Day 3: Bike tour around Yangshuo countryside, bamboo rafting on peaceful Yulong River, old villages

Your guide will escort you cycling off the beaten path on scenic trails through the countryside. The tour offers beautiful views of mountains and farmers working in the rice fields, with opportunities to visit Dragon Bridge (see description on “Attractions” page) and small authentic villages along the way.

After that you’ll take a bamboo raft from Jinglong Bridge down the peaceful Yulong Riverfor about two hours of relaxation and enjoyment. The guide and driver will meet your raft at the end.

You will then visit Jiuxiang village, which boasts many well preserved traditional buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You will have lunch in a farmer’s restaurant with excellent local food, after which we will continue our drive through the local countryside, providing intimate glimpses into local people’s life and culture.

After lunch, we will return to Yangshuo via different quiet and peaceful bicycle trails.

Day 4: Silver Cave, Xianggong Hill, drive to Guilin airport

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to visit Silver Cave. This is the biggest and most beautiful cave in south China, with beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, and other rock formations of diverse and impressive shapes.

We will then drive to Xianggong Hill through the most scenic and least touristed country routes. You can see the beautiful scenery and enjoy the peaceful countryside, Li River valley and karst mountains at view points along the way. At Xianggong Hill, a fifteen-minute climb up stone steps will take you to a bird's-eye panoramic view of the Li River and unique karst mountains. This is a famous site for photography, especially at sunrise.

We will then drive you to Guilin aiport.

Day 1: Airport pick up, transfer to Longji, overnight in Ping’an.

Day 2: Drive from Longji to Guilin, walk around the city lakes, Elephant Trunk Hill, stay in Guilin.

After breakfast, our guide will accompany you on a hiking tour from Ping’an Village to Old Zhuang Village, where you will visit traditional Zhuang style buildings with a history of hundreds of years. Families of three to five generations still live in these old building, which are architecturally interesting in that they are totally wood framed. If you are interested, you can learn more about the culture and history of the Zhuang ethnic minority people.

After checking out from your hotel in Ping’an, we will drive you to Guilin for a city lakes walking tour. The lakes are connected to each other: they were built as a city moat during the Ming Dynasty and served as a waterway transportation system serving downtown Guilin. You will see different bridges, many unique stones, ancient pavilions, the Moon and Sun Pagoda, and many more sights. During the tour, you will learn much about Chinese history and culture.

During the evening, you can explore the center square and Zhengyang walking street.

Day 3: Visit Yao mountain and Daxu ancient town, drive to Yangshuo, Impression light show, stay overnight in Yangshuo.

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Yao Mountain, which is the highest mountain in the city of Guilin. You will take a cable car up and down the mountain. The summit offers panoramic views of the entire city and its unique karst peaks.

We will then drive you to visit Daxu, which is a famous and ancient town on the east bank of the Li River. We will walk the old streets, see ancient bridges and old buildings, and experience real Chinese people’s life, history, and culture. When you are walking through the town, the peaceful surroundings will bring you back to a time of centuries past.

We will then drive you to Yangshuo where you can check into your hotel.

In the evening, we will take you to the Impression San Jie Liu light show, which starts at 8 p.m. and finishes at 9:10 p.m.

Day 4: Bike tour around Yangshuo countryside, bamboo rafting on peaceful Yulong River

Your tour guide will escort you on a bicycle tour through the quiet and scenic paths along the Yulong River. You can see farmers working in the fields, fruit orchards, water buffaloes, and local villages along the way. You can visit Golden Water Cave, hike up Moon Hill, and then explore local villages and have lunch at Feng's family house. We will then drive to Fuli for a visit to the local market there. This is not a tourist market: it is an authentic Chinese rural market where farmers sell and trade their own goods.

We will then return by car to Yangshuo, where you can stroll along the bustling West Street before we drive you to the Guilin airport.

Day 3: Yangshuo to Sanjiang Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, overnight in Dong village

You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rice terraces, which are built on the hill slopes. You will also have the chance to meet some of the local minority people working in the rice fields. This is a famous spot for sunset photography. After a stroll around Dazhai village, we will have a lunch of excellent local food.

After lunch, we will drive you to Guilin airport.

Day 5: Sanjiang to Tang’an Dong minority village and Zhaoxing Dong minority village, stay in Zhaoxing

Drive to Zhaoxing Dong village. We’ll visit Tang’an Dong minority village, see the rice terraces. Then continue drive to Zhaoxing, With a history of over 2000 years, this is the largest Dong ethnic village in China, housing more than 4,000 people and over 1,000 families. Stay in Zhaoxing.

Day 6: Zhaoxing Dong and Baisha Miao minority villages, stay in Zhaoxing

Walking around Zhaoxing Dong minority village, there are five drum tower and opera stages, five Wind and Rain Bridges and three Sa altars. The drum towers are a recognized cultural heritage site in China and are entered in the Guinness Book of World Records. The drum towers, bridges, opera stages, and Sa altars together represent the Dong people's architecture and spirituality. The five drum towers represent the five family branches that come together in one village. The old wooden buildings have been very well preserved and present the strong ethnic customs and hospitality of the Dong people.

We will then drive to Basha, which is an old Miao ethnic village. Residents still preserve and practice their centuries-old customs. The Miao are the last of the ethnic tribes who may legally carry guns in accordance with their traditions. The men continue to wear their hair long, periodically cutting it with a large ceremonial knife.

We will then drive back to Zhaoxing, where you will stay the night.

Day 7: We will drive you from Zhaoxing to the Guilin airport.
